Exceptional Employees help to make a business
As mentioned in past Newsletters, Brentwood Chamber of Commerce has decided to introduce an ”Employee Recognition Award” to recognise such exceptional people, nominated by their companies for services beyond the norm, for going, as you might say, ‘the extra mile’.
No business can prosper without good, committed employees. And, occasionally, we all come across exceptional people who work with great enthusiasm and effectiveness for their company, acting as an inspiration to others. They are the ones who make a real difference and help their company to thrive and compete well in the tough business environment which faces us all.
As mentioned in past Newsletters, Brentwood Chamber of Commerce has decided to introduce an ”Employee Recognition Award” to recognise such exceptional people, nominated by their companies for services beyond the norm, for going, as you might say, ‘the extra mile’. The first such awards were made at Chamber’s Christmas networking lunch in December 2007. Our picture shows the two recipients; Katy Hilton from the Music Shop, Ropers Yard, Brentwood – nominated by the business owner, Sue Page (second from left): the other is Colin Miers who works for Brentwood Home Improvement agency, Anchor Staying Put. Presenting the awards, Rob Bristow, Vice-Chairman of Brentwood Chamber of Commerce (far right of the picture), said of Katy “she is to be commended for her level of commitment and effort to her job…. Katy embodies the kind of service that shoppers in Brentwood have come to enjoy”. Commenting on Colin’s award, Rob said “we are delighted to honour Colin in this way as his service to the community has clearly been outstanding….we wish him and Anchor Staying Put a very successful continued future in their care for the elderly and disabled”. Now it is your turn. If you have an employee who you consider to be exceptional and you want them to receive some recognition, please let me have your nominations. There is no cost involved, except you might want to take them as your guest to a future networking event so that we can publicise their contribution. If you cannot spare the time away from your business to attend such an event, we can always arrange to come to you. Please give it some thought. Just let me know at info@brentwoodchambers.co.uk or telephone me at 01277 214814 Click here to read the citations for Katy. Click here to read the citations for Colin. |
