The Brentwood Chamber of Commerce has members spread throughout the borough and the nature of the businesses supported is very varied. About one quarter are retailers of goods and services in the main shopping areas, as well as supporting banks, building societies and estate agents.
In addition there are some 50 "professional" firms of accountants, architects and surveyors, financial advisors and solicitors plus office services, travel and media companies.
OUR MISSION
Our objectives are to promote and protect the general and individual interests of our Members and to act as a channel of communication between them and public authorities and other bodies.
In early 2008 Brentwood Chamber of Commerce launched a very exciting new product - our 'Member Discount Card' - this is rather like a plastic credit card and, when it is shown to 'Acceptors', the cardholder is offered a discount on purchases. 'Member Discount Cards' have been sent out to all members with their 2008 Membership Certificate - which doubles as an acknowledgement of annual fee payment receipt.
The card can be used at all Chamber Member outlets who have agreed to become 'Acceptors'. A list of 'Acceptors' is shown below and is kept up-to-date on a regular basis. A hard copy will also be sent out on a half yearly basis with the Newsletter showing the list of 'Acceptors'. If there is any doubt about who is an 'Acceptor' cardholders can look for the Acceptors logo displayed in shop windows/business premises (see logo below). Members who trade mainly on-line will be displaying the logo on their websites.
We believe the introduction of this new product into Brentwood is an excellent opportunity to encourage trading amongst Brentwood Chamber of Commerce members and should offer tangible benefits for both 'Member Discount Card' users and 'Acceptors'.
